Position Purpose: The Database Developer focuses on the managed care applications, creating rules and reports as determined by the business. This position is responsible for creating and supporting applications that aggregate data across many systems and data structures.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain user reports, query data from SQL and Oracle databases, develop SSRS reports, design and maintain Crystal Reports
  • Develop complex stored procedures for reporting with accuracy and reliability
  • Fine tune queries to improve database performance through the use of indexes, stage data and other optimization methods
  • Utilize ASP.NET, C#, HTML, CSS and Dev Express to create and deploy various reports
  • Develop SSIS packages to help with automation of reports
  • Develop and maintain SSIS packages to import data from various 3rd party vendors and to export data in a variety of standard formats that meet both business and state contractual requirements
  • Convert via rewrite any Access databases still in use by business users
  • Create and maintain SQL databases, tables, views and other database objects
  • Document processes workflows, training materials and other standard IT documentation
  • Perform programming and maintenance of new and existing SQL Server-based applications, interfaces and reports
  • Code, update and debug stored procedures using T-SQL and PL/SQL
  • Improve database performance through indexes and triggers
  • Transfer data using SQL Server Integrated Services (SSIS)
  • Design, test and deploy databases through a structured Software Development Life Cycle leveraging Team Foundation Server for source control and task management
  • Design and build front-end interfaces for database-based applications
  • Manage and develop rules and processes utilizing TCL and PL/SQL
  • Other projects as assigned

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related field is preferred but not required

Years of Experience:

  • 3+ years of SQL Server Experience
  • 3+ years of Database and ETL development experience
  • 2+ years of SSIS experience
  • 1+ year of SSRS experience
  • DB2 and Oracle experience a plus
  • Healthcare background desired, but not required

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Visio, Project, and video editing experiencing a plus
  • Visual Studio
  • TSQL, PL/SQL desired
  • HTML and C# desired
  • Crystal Reports a plus
  • Scrum and Agile knowledge desired
  • Advanced relational database concepts
